Currently, Charity Productions is servicing a grant from the National Academies for
Science,Engineering, and Medicine, Next Generation of Community Resilience
Leaders. The Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center, directed by Michelle Myers, is a
Camp DASH cohort. Part of the inspiration involved demonstration project provided to the Houston Independent School District 2017 and 2018 College and Career Program.
Charity Productions began a unique application of FEMA’s Emergency Management
Institute courses 2007 as a demonstration project providing instructional classes for
TSU’s library staff. This approach we call Continuity of Neighborhoods. In 2009, Charity Productions began a journey with Dean Jorge Vanegas of TAMU’s College of Architecture under a MOUCI, ending with a Fellow designation with the
Institute for Sustainable Communities from 2017-2023, Professor Phil Berke. During
that period, research projects included interaction with the Hazard Recovery and Reduction Center—Professor George Rogers, PI, Walter Peacock, Director, and Texas Targeted Communities, John Cooper, Director.
